La Petite Maison's Cocktail – A Recipe

We present a simplified interpretation of a beverage from a new drinks list. It's a party-sized pre-mixed that's bursting with the flavours of the holiday season, which makes it ideal for a holiday party. Reserve the remaining citrus syrup to use in morning drinks, desserts, or for another batch of the drink.

Bikini

Serves 10 servings

To make the Clementine Cordial (yields 750ml)

300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

For the Drink (makes 850ml, serving 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine cordial (see above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Method

To prepare the Cordial: Combine every ingredients into a saucepan, heat until it reaches a simmer, stirring to dissolve. Next, turn off the heat allowing it to cool fully. Transfer into a sealable bottle, close it and refrigerate it chilled, where it will keep for up to one month.

For the Premix: Pour all the liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, leave to sit for one hour, then strain preferably using cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.

For serving: Pour 85ml of your premix into a stirring glass packed with ice, gently stirring lightly for about 60 seconds to chill. Strain into a cold coupe glass or similar, garnish with some cranberries and finish by giving it a light spray with the mandarin essence over the top.
